Aviation - Aircraft Industry

Suhner ABRASIVE is able to meet the exacting requirements of the aerospace industry and offers solutions for surface treatment of complete processes in the manufacture of interior and exterior components, OEM paintwork and on to maintenance and repair.

In doing so the following processes are the focus:

  • Precision grinding of fan and compressor blades
  • Handling of existing cabin panelling, composed of composite materials
  • Removing varnish and soil on the airframe as well as on the wings
  • Maintenance of the cargo compartment
  • Overhaul of the engine combustion chamber
  • Maintenance of the thrust reversal components
  • Reprocessing of propeller blades

Mould Construction and Pressure Die Casting

The market sector of mould construction and the manufacturing of pressure die-castings is under intense competitive pressure, but still requires a high level of quality. Optimized process flows and flexible, quickly convertible tools are the key for an increase in productivity with consistent high quality.

Suhner ABRASIVE is a solution provider and has a long experience in the manufacturing of machines and tools for professional surface finishing and burr removing.

For a professional finishing of pressure die castings and forms; a wide range of air and electric power tools with appropriate, application-oriented abrasives are available.

Food-Tech - Converting Plants

Whilst food processing, which is regulated in the EN 1672-2, the process security, the fulfilment of hygiene regulations and the compliance of the quality norms have highest priority. In order to reduce costs and down-times significantly and to increase production security, the raw materials and surfaces have to be cleaned and maintained very easily.

Converting plants have to show residue-free, cleanable surfaces with a surface roughness of RA < 0.8 µm to RA < 0.3 µm – hence the highest requirements for surface finishing.

High quality standards and high efficiency require corresponding machines and abrasives - which Suhner ABRASIVE can offer as system solutions.

Pharma / Vacuum Chambers

Vacuum chambers, for instance, have to be ground to remove roughness, mill scale, cinder or scores.

Abrasives may not be worked into the surface. Depending on the fundamental roughness (RA) and the lamination strength to be removed, there will need to be several steps with increasingly finer grains, in cross-grinding and with changing grinding directions.

Required is a surface roughness of RA < 0.8 µm to RA < 0.3 µm, which will be achieved in several working steps. Precision, efficient use of resources, working security and last but not least, ergonomics for the employees are taking a central role in the interaction. Suhner ABRASIVE has the appropriate tools and abrasives, to meet the application size and finishing requirements.

OEM - Built-on Motors

We develop and produce electric motors used in our hand-held power tools ourselves, which makes us a competent partner for OEM customers.

Based on our motor know-how and the available standard components we are developing and producing built-on motors for third parties. The electric motors comply with EN60745 as well as the valid EMV rules. They are checked through a «notified body».

Our electric motors stand out with a soft start, smooth speed change up to the nominal speed and a constantly held revolution speed. This means that the motor revolution speed is held electronically on a constant working speed even under torque loading. The built-on motors are protective insulated.
